Off the Page is an invitation to explore the interconnectedness of art forms and to discover the myriad ways in which language and imagery shape our understanding of the world. Damen's paintings span two and half decades where her masterful synthesis of poetry, folk stories and sound reminds us of the profound power of creative expression to inspire, provoke and illuminate. Included are ekphrastic poems penned by poets, Luisa A. Igloria and Maj Ragain as well as Damen's responsive paintings to the poems by, Paula Meehan, Michael Salcman, Janet Lewis and Wilfred Owen.
