Inspired by Michael Salcman’s poem, Mother of the Bay, Green Moon of Great Mother of the Bay - Tight Squeeze emphasizes the womb like quality of the Bay. The Chesapeake Bay is the womb for enumerable species. Pollution has decreased, oyster beds have increased and porpoises are now thriving in rivers. Simultaneously islands are disappearing. While the Bay has a natural process of sinking the more rapid threat comes from increasing levels of CO2 in our atmosphere causing warming waters, melting glaciers and dying coral reefs eventually causing atmospheric poisoning and mass extinctions..
