The Great Chesapeake Bay has often been a source for my paintings. This series, inspired by Dr. Michael Salcman's poem, Mother of the Bay, confronts the Bay's perilous state. The ominous green sky entraps the hapless sailor his boat's keel nearly caught by mud. Space and time are squeezed between towering cliffs.
