In this painting, I emphasize The Bay's womb-like quality since the Chesapeake Bay is the source of so much life. Global climate change is threatening the myriad species of the Bay and humans who depend upon a healthy marine ecosystem. We are living on the precipice. The rapidly heating, drowning, polluting, glacial and permafrost melting, majestic forests’ burning, coral reef blanching, increasing species die-offs, is self destruction. We are destroying our Garden of Eden. If we do not change course now the next generation and all the generations afterwards may well die under a green sky.
