Mother We Won't Forsake You
Lost Songs from Death of a Field envisions a meadow that will be subdivided. Red earth shows through the subdivided field and once subdivided the life of the meadow is lost. Lost are children playing in wild fields, lovers hiding and hugging, the myriad flora and fauna gone all under a fiery sky. This painting was inspired by Paul Meehan's poem, Death of a Field in Painting Rain Wake Forest University Press, Winston-Salem, NC, 2009
